Bzenecký hrad (Starý hrad)

Title: Bzenecký hrad (Starý hrad)
Description: The famous Bzenec Castle has disappeared with no masonry left, only an oval terrain mound remained in its place. It is located in the place where the Old Castle used to stand. The time of the origin of the castle is unclear. The Bzenec Castle tends to be, probably without reason, identified with a Businc Castle first mentioned in 1015. According to Pulkava’s Chronicle, the castle was built for Constance, the widowed wife of King Premysl Otakar I. There is evidence that in the first half of the 14th century the castle was the seat of regional authorities, however from early 15th century it would be put into pledge and during the Hussite raids it was conquered and razed by Hussites. You can get to this point following the green-marked trail. A legend of Bzenec Castle.
