The cellar alley

The first vaults without press houses were built in Hlohovec in rear parts of farm houses – nowadays, in two vault lanes of the village housing more than 150 vaults. Šulaperk is a very popular vault lane, with extensive group of ground cellars with press rooms on the hill. The vault colony U kerchova is interesting thanks to a long, probably Haban cellar. The large underground labyrinth was divided by partition walls and equipped with side entrances – so there were created several small cellars, serving to a dozen of owners.

Undoubtedly, the Border Castle (Hraniční zámeček ) is the most notable building of the village, built in Classical style on pilots and grates on the Hlohovecký pond bank in 1826 – 1827, based on design of Josef Kornhäusel by the brick layer Josef Popellack.
